Girvan & District Attractions has been run by local community volunteers since 1973. The charity provides free events for people living in Girvan and South Carrick. We also attract visitors to our area through our community events
Girvan & District Attractions uses community events as the driving tool to reduce social isolation, deprivation and to increase community cohesion in the area, which at the same time helps to boost economic growth for the town.
Volunteers organise and deliver community events such as the annual Carrick Lowland Gathering, Civic Week and the opening of Stumpy Jail for historical and educational visits for schools, tourists and local people. As well as Spooky Stumpy, we also plan and organise the Girvan and South Carrick Community Fireworks Display.
